Hello all throughout all the tapes I have listened to one thing in common with them all is that if your not centered within yourself all the knowledge or mentorship will only do so much. I am currently reading Awaking The Giant Within by Antony Robbins which is making interesting discoveries. As well as finishing Rich Dad Poor Dad and doing the Choose to be Rich program. I think that by combining all these "tools" it can only enhance what is currently in the "wealth" books. Poor self-confidence is a huge factor within people due to factors in life but if one knows how to acknowledge the fears that keep us back but to overcome them it would only make them stronger.
I'm sure that everyone would like to read all they can about money and how it works and how to make more of it but I really think looking at the whole picture would help out tremendously.
So if any one has any suggestions on "self-Help"books that help with connecting to the core of oneself I would be quite appreciative of their input and comments of those books.
Thanks Joe

Welcome to the group Joe! The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey is a great book to start off with. From what I remember, he talks about being proactive rather than reactive, balancing the different parts of your life (business & family for example), achieving paradigm shifts, etc. . . . . lots of good stuff. I attended a Covey seminar back in college and got a lot out of it . . . probably more than I would have gotten just from reading the book because they showed videos and made us do the workbook exercises. I'm not sure if you'd want to go to a seminar (it was free for me . . . I think it normally costs $1,000), but I'd recommend buying the workbook.

Joe,
It's funny you mention Anthony Robbins because just this morning I had to use one of his techniques. I'm in the Army and I really am not the greatest runner in the world however I've got to do what it takes to pass my upcoming PT test. So one of the things he talks about is mimicking the values and belief systems of someone who is successful in whatever you want to do. I had made a concerted effort to think of what I'd have to believe in order to run better.
Yes, I'm a big fan of Anthony Robbins. I agree that your confidence level plays a big part in your success or failure. I know that there is a lot of material out there that, on the surface, sounds like it's all about making money and what not but surprisingly enough I would have to say that it only turns out to be the bait that lures me in. I would have to say that 95% of the stuff I take in teaches principles in really improving myself.
Some of my favorites are:
Suze Orman = The Laws of Money, The Lessons of Life
Anthony Robbins = Lessons in Mastery
Phillip McGraw = Life Strategies
George S. Clason = Richest Man in Babylon
[Can't remember author] = Greatest Salesman in the World (Part I & II)
Napolean Hill = Think & Grow Rich
Norman Vincint Peal = Power of Positive Thinking
I'll admit that a lot of these I only have the audio version but for me it's more practical sometimes. Especially when you're sitting in your car stuck in traffic. It's great!
Good luck!
